IN-CLINIC SERVICES

​

We have a haul-in facility allowing us to perform routine exams, sick animal care and surgeries. We have veterinary technicians to run diagnostics for same day results and provide additional care to hospitalized patients. Supplies can be picked up at the clinic during office hours.

AMBULATORY FARM SERVICES

​

We offer a comprehensive range of services from routine herd health visits to individual animal care for our dairy, beef, small ruminants and  commercial swine. Same-day appointments are available for sick or injured animals and an emergency service is available 24/7 in our practice area. 

SURGERY 

 

Our veterinarians are able to perform a full range of surgical procedures both on-farm and in-clinic. These surgeries range from abdominal surgery for displaced abomasum correction, C-sections, hernias, enucleations and many more.

CONSULTATION 

 

We boast over 75 years of experience between our veterinarians. Our expertise ranges from reproduction, calf care, milk quality and other health concerns of livestock.   

EMBRYO TRANSFER

 

Drs. Bryce Slavik and Kyle Longcore currently provide embryo transfer services to our clients. They offer both conventional flush/embryo transfer and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in cooperation with Boviteq. On-farm or in-clinic services are available.

EMERGENCY CARE 24/7

​

One of our 7 veterinarians on staff is on-call to assist with any after hours emergencies you may have on your farm. We offer emergency care for dairy, beef, small ruminants and commercial swine (non-pet/pot bellied).

Spanish Translation, On-Farm Training & Tech Services​
​

Our tech Max Lopez is assisting with employee training in Spanish. These trainings include milking, maternity, calf care, fresh cow care and stockmanship. He can also help with general translation on farm for discussions with employees. Max is assisting us with updating or translating protocols into Spanish

​

On-farm Max is assisting during herd health by giving shots, sorting cattle and running the clipboard. Other tasks he can perform on farm include dehorning calves, relief breeding, ketosis monitoring, leukosis and johnes testing.

ABOUT
OUR CLINIC

Sterner Veterinary Livestock Professionals has been providing care to farms in Michigan since 1943. In 2020, SVLP acquired Countyline Veterinary Service in Westphalia, MI and currently operates at that location. In the winter of 2021, Dr. Slavik introduced embryo transfer to our practice.  Later that year, we had the pleasure to add Meadow View Veterinary Services from Carson City, MI.  SVLP now has 8 large animal veterinarians on staff, with over a combined 75  years of experience to service your needs.
